Pastor Joseph L. Lucas Jr. is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Christian Life Church. He is a teacher of truth according to the Word of God located in Belcamp, Maryland. Christian Life Church is a biblically-based church with a Pastor who loves the Lord and preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christian Life Church emphasizes making an impact for the Kingdom of God through families, life principles, communities, and economic empowerment.
Pastor Lucas enlisted in the United States Army in 1980, where he served for two years as a sixteen Bravo Missiles Crewmen. Pastor Lucas watched his father go to work and how much his father seemed to enjoy the work he was doing. Pastor was intrigued by his father’s career as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician, and he later started his own business in the Heating and Air Conditioning service in 1993. Pastor Lucas found the heating and air conditioning business to be very lucrative. He knew he had found his niche.
In conjunction with building New Covenant Heating and Air, in 1984, Pastor Joseph Lucas was led by God to accept his true calling. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, which led to his Christian journey to become the Shepherd of his flock of Christian Life Church. In addition to pasturing at Christian Life Church, Pastor Lucas became an active member of the Shining Star Baptist Church located in Chase, Maryland. He served under the leadership of Pastor James Johnson.
Pastor Lucas’s duties at Shining Star Baptist Church were as a Youth Pastor and Sunday School Teacher. In 1990, Pastor immediately enrolled in the Arlington Bible College, where he worked to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies. Pastor Lucas was later installed as an Ordained Deacon. He eventually achieved his license as an Associate Minister in 1992. He prepared for his Ministry as Pastor Joseph L. Lucas in 1994. He completed his assignment for the Lord in 1996, where he started preaching and accepted his calling.
In 2000, the Lord had another assignment for Pastor Lucas; he accepted the responsibility to assist Pastor Kevin Webster at the Rooted Bible Fellowship Church. In 2008, Pastor Lucas became Assistant Pastor under the tutelage of Pastor Webster. For Pastor’s eight (8) years at Rooted Bible Fellowship Church, Pastor’s ministries included:
- Pure and Proud - a purity ministry for young teens to teach the importance of maintaining their virginity in the sight of God as well as understanding that their bodies are their temples.
- Sunday School Director - Director for all Sunday School programs.
- Pastor over single ministry - Director of programs for single ministries.
- Counselor - Assisted Pastor Webster with day-to-day counseling programs.
In 2008, Pastor Joseph L. Lucas and twelve other families held his first service under the deck of his home. Pastor Lucas now fully operates Christian Life Church for his thirteen year journey. Christian Life Church is located in Belcamp, Maryland. Christian Life Church has transitioned and is growing by the hand of God. Pastor Lucas has incorporated those programs that he is passionate about. He understands that “our youth are the future of God’s Kingdom, and there is a need to embrace our young people and involve them in the vision that God has led me to do; the purpose is to Impact the Kingdom of God.”
Pastor has embraced the vision that God has placed in the center of his heart to make a place for our youth so that we can build the kingdom with strong leadership for the Kingdom of God.

In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves. Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.
